IMS CHIPS at MEMS 2026 – Excellence, Networking and Talent Development
MEMS 2026 once again confirmed its status as one of the world’s leading and most competitive conferences in the field of micro- and nanosystems technology. Fewer than 45% of all submissions were accepted following a rigorous review process – a quality benchmark clearly reflected in the 2026 program.
Prof. Dr. Niels Quack, Director of IMS CHIPS, was actively involved in several key roles: as a Session Chair, member of major MEMS community committees, and as an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Micro-Electromechanical Systems (JMEMS). In these roles, he contributed significantly to shaping the scientific content of the conference.
A particular highlight were the Dedicated Industry Sessions, which showcased current developments at the intersection of MEMS, artificial intelligence, photonics, acoustics and wireless communication – topics of high strategic relevance for IMS CHIPS.
In addition to high-level scientific contributions, two students from the IMS environment presented their research results. The conference was further enriched by intensive exchanges with industrial and research partners, as well as strong visibility of IMS CHIPS at the exhibition and job board.
