We present our IMS newsletter.

In this newsletter (issue 2, 2011) we would like to give you some highlights of our ongoing activities at the Institut fuer Mikroelektronik Stuttgart. The topics of the current issue are:

Introducing the Smart Power Gate Arrays™ – New ASIC platform in Gate Array technology with integrated power components
After wrapping up the "24Volt-ASICs" project sponsored by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie the feasibility of Gate Arrays with integrated power components and additional digital and analog functions were successfully demonstrated. First sample chips have been sent out to several companies in the region for testing.

Day of the Innovationsallianz Baden-Württemberg innBW – Research facilities present the highlights of their work
The Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart together with 11 other research facilities in Baden-Württemberg form the Innovationsallianz Baden-Württemberg. It presented itself to representatives from politics and business on July 14th displaying numerous highlights from user-oriented research.

Lively Interest in the PRONTO workshop – The PRONTO production platform presents itself to 80 participants
More than 80 participants form industry and research gathered for the PRONTO workshop in Stuttgart on June 30th. They were given an outline at IMS CHIPS of the production platform for micro systems that is currently under construction. The PRONTO platform shall act as instrument for the industrial sector to test, introduce and support a variety of non-sector specific micro system technology applications while establishing serial production.

HDRC®-Q-PyroCam ready for industrial application – Quotient-PyroCam providing precise imaging temperature measurements
Creating precise "temperature images" was the goal set by the group of researchers at IMS CHIPS. Having realized this they are now on the way to starting production. The team has developed a new ratio-pyrometer for imaging temperature measurement.
