October 10, 2012
Director General Meinel paid a visit to the Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart (IMS CHIPS) on October 10th, 2012.
Subject of the visit was not only the importance of microelectronics in better energy efficient products and production processing but he also emphasized how crucial the conservative
use of available resources as well as the development of new processes are in order to replace critical materials in the future.
Another topic was the cooperation between the various research facilities in Baden-Württemberg that are involved
in intelligent energy supply networks – who will gain even further importance in the future - compensating supply and demand fluctuations in energy supply.
Director General Meinel was particularly supportive of the Baden-Württemberg backed Innovationsallianz Baden-Württemberg (innBW) that facilitates this cooperation.
