On March 6th, 2017, Staatssekretärin Katrin Schütz visited the Institut für Mikroelektronik Stuttgart (IMS CHIPS) and presented the funding notification for the fiscal year 2017. The Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und

Says Staatssekretärin Schütz: “Being a state-wide competence center for intelligent microchips, IMS CHIPS is an important partner to small and medium-sized companies”
“Being state-wide competence center for intelligent microchips, IMS CHIPS is an important partner to small and medium-sized companies”, said Staatsekretärin Katrin Schütz during the presentation of the funding notification on Monday. “The outstanding competence in nano and microelectronics at IMS CHIPS is supported by its unique technological product portfolio for the manufacture of intelligent microchips and systems of the future. Small and medium-sized companies, in particular, depend partners such as IMS CHIPS since they are often not in a position to install their own research and development capacities”, says Schütz. The support for IMS CHIPS, therefore, includes a so-called “SME bonus” of around 245,000 € for the acquisition of research mandates of small and medium-sized companies.
