Knowledge transfer with industry to intensify
Panel recommends higher sponsoring. Baden-Württemberg government increases support. The 13 Innovationsallianz Baden-Württemberg (innBW) research facilities demonstrate an âoutstanding research and transfer performanceâ. This conclusion was drawn by the high-ranking reviewer panel which had been scrutinizing the non-university research facilities on account of the Baden-Württemberg government in recent months. The reviewers recommend retaining the focused activities by the innBW facilities. In order to intensify the important link between science and industry even further, additional joint research projects and an improved financial endowment is necessary. This coincides with the Baden-Württemberg government which has increased its institutional funding by 2.8 million euros at the end of November. Business can certainly use improved research services: southern Germany is currently experiencing a slack in innovation.
The reviewers are convinced that by increasing competition - particularly for regional small and medium-sized companies - the innBW facilities significantly support research and development in Baden-Württemberg. By providing market-relevant research and support services for businesses during the development of new products the evaluated research facilities have fully convinced the panel of their unique selling position.
