Strengthening Europe’s Innovation Ecosystem through Dialogue

Last week, IMS CHIPS welcomed high-level representatives from the European Commission, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg and the University of Stuttgart for an exchange on the future of research, innovation and technology transfer.

Among the guests were Dr. Andreas Schwarz, Head of Cabinet of European Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva for Startups, Research and Innovation, Alexandra Hild from the Commissioner’s Cabinet, Michael Kleiner, Director General at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Judit Schrick-Szenczi, Deputy Head of Division at the Ministry, Ulrike Conrad, Representative of the Ministry at the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the European Union, and Anna Andrea Steiger from the University of Stuttgart.

The discussions focused on Europe’s innovation ecosystem, the importance of world-class research infrastructures, and close collaboration between science, industry and policy to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness.

We were particularly pleased to continue these discussions the following day at the Economic Summit BW-EU, where a joint lunch and the panel discussion “Europe’s Path to Competitiveness” provided an excellent opportunity to deepen the exchange and explore future perspectives.
