More than 230 Visitors Experience Research Up Close at IMS CHIPS
Strong Public Interest in Our Open House Event
Last Saturday, IMS CHIPS opened its doors to the public as part of the University of Stuttgart’s Science Day and Baden-Württemberg Science Week. Between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., more than 230 visitors took the opportunity to go behind the scenes of our research and development activities. Our goal was to make micro- and nanotechnologies understandable, tangible, and accessible to visitors of all ages – and the event was a great success. The diverse program attracted families with children, students, technology enthusiasts, and industry professionals alike. While our youngest guests got creative at the coloring and puzzle stations or explored fibers, hair, and jewelry using handheld microscopes, adult visitors learned about current research projects, innovative technologies, and the wide range of activities at IMS CHIPS.
A particular highlight was our technology and cleanroom tours, which started every 20 minutes and gave visitors unique insights into our research infrastructure.
Over coffee and cake, many engaging conversations took place. Guests took the opportunity to ask questions, speak with our researchers and staff, and exchange ideas with one another. We would like to sincerely thank all our visitors for their great interest, the inspiring conversations, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback. Our special thanks also go to the University of Stuttgart for jointly organizing the Science Day, as well as to the State of Baden-Württemberg, whose Science Week makes an important contribution to bringing science closer to the public. Events like these help foster a better understanding of research, strengthen the dialogue between science and society, and showcase the innovations being developed right here in Baden-Württemberg. We are delighted with the success of the day and look forward to welcoming many more curious visitors to IMS CHIPS in the future.
