The Board of Trustees of the IMS CHIPS foundation meets twice a year to discuss fundamental decisions for the research facility. At this year’s spring meeting, key points were decided, including the approval of the 2024 annual financial statements.

A particular highlight was the fact that 2024 was the year with the highest transaction volume in the history of IMS CHIPS. The Board of Trustees explicitly acknowledged the achievements of all employees.

In addition to the economic successes, the personnel development was also highlighted: Following the retirement of Prof. Joachim Burghartz, Prof. Jens Anders headed the IMS on an interim basis from October 2024 to March 2025. He received special recognition from the Board of Trustees for his leading role in this successful phase.

In addition, Dr. Michael Warber presented the new partnership with the Institute of Applied Optics (ITO) in his lecture. The highlight was the demonstration of the CGH demonstrator by Dr. Kevin Edelmann.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Niels Quack was officially welcomed as the new Managing Director of the IMS as of April 1st, 2025.
